This 2004, 2005 and 2014 Kia Sedona has a rain sensor feature option. Please select the part windshield with rain sensor from the drop down menu if you have a rain sensor. If you are unsure if you have a rain sensor then you can provide us with the VIN when we schedule the appointment and we can confirm that you have that feature. Having the rain sensor feature doesn’t always necessarily mean that your replacement windshield will be more expensive.

The 2017 Thru 2021 Kia Sedona can come equipped with a Lane Departure Warning system and Forward Collision Alert System.  This means if you have either of these two features Kia Requires Static calibration when replacing the windshield.  If you have a 2017 Kia Sedona and you don’t have the vin available you can determine if you have advanced driver assistance features if your vehicle is equipped with leather seats.  If it does then your vehicle has ADAS onboard and needs to be recalibrated.  Anytime you remove the damaged glass it can affect the forward-facing camera that is attached to the vehicles windshield and to ensure the camera continues to function as it did when it was new after the new windshield is installed Kia the vehicle manufacturer requires a static recalibration and this should be carried out by a qualified recalibration specialist.  Some companies offer the service and some companies do not.  Certain companies may tell you that you don’t need it because they don’t unhook anything or touch the camera but that can be dangerous and if the safety system on your vehicle is rendered in operable it can put your life at risk and others the manufacturer requires it and for good reasons.  Static Calibrations can range from $450 to $650 nationwide.  Dealerships typically charge the most.  When the technician or shop does a calibration they should provide you with paperwork demonstrating a pre-scan and post scan and successful calibration and then you are safe to drive on the road again.  The cost for a windshield replacement and static calibration is around $1000 to $2000 depending on which replacement glass is used and where you take the vehicle to have the glass replaced.  The 2017 Kia Sedona with ADAS part type has an Acoustic Interlayer soundproofing glass, Lane Departure warning system, Forward collision alert system, Heated glass and condensation sensor.  The Forward Collision warning system alerts the driver of possible risk of collision.

In 2015 Kia introduced the new Advanced Driver Assistance System Features otherwise know as ADAS Technology such as a Forward Collisoin Alert System or FCA for short and Lane Departure Warning System LDWS These systems Kia Requires Static calibration when replacing the windshield.  Certain companies may tell you that you don’t need it because they don’t unhook anything or touch the camera but that can be dangerous and if the safety system on your vehicle is rendered in operable it can put your life at risk and others the manufacturer requires it and as we said before above for good reasons.  The 2016 with the LDWS and FCA part also has a condensation sensor and heated wiper park area heated glass feature.  The estimated cost for windshield replacement with static calibration can be anywhere from $1200-$2000 depending on what type of glass is being used and where you are having the static calibration performed.  The 2016 has the same options also.

The 2014 Kia Sedona may have a factory sunroof installed if your 2014 Kia Sedona does have the sunroof than your vehicle windshield has the following features rain sensor, auto dimming mirror, solar coated glass, heated glass and a heated wiper park area and the estimated replacement cost is around $400 to $650 from our research from mid August of 2022.  If your  2014 Kia Sedona does have the sunroof and has leather seats than your vehicle windshield has the following features Auto Dimming Mirror with a heated glass and heated wiper park area feature.  This part type does not have a rain sensor and is slightly lower in cost and can range around $380-$600 depending on what company you use and if they are coming to you with mobile service.  Distance, Drive time, gas, type of glass being used, warranty and company type all factor into the cost of replacement and taking it to the dealership is typically always the most expensive route and not necessarily the best service.

In 2013 they did not make a Kia Sedona.

The 2006 thru 2012 Kia Sedona can have options like a heated windshield, heated wiper park area, rain sensor and electrochromic mirror.

The 2004 Kia Sedona Windshield has 2 possible windshield types a heated windshield and a heated windshield with a rain sensor.  The heated windshield feature is the most common glass part needed when trying to replace a windshield on a 04’ Kia Sedona.  When replacing either windshield you will need to order a 3/4 WFS F2272 Molding.  If your vehicle has the rain sensor feature the glass company or technician will have to order the rain sensor glass part and a rain sensor kit.  The two windshields are different and replacing the part with the exact part on your vehicle is absolutely necessary.  If are not sure you can sometimes determine the features your vehicle has by providing the VIN or vehicle identification number to the glass shop or the dealership over the phone or by email by email or text is typically easier because the VIN is 17 characters long.  Another way to determine if you have a rain sensor is if your vehicles wipers just their speed automatically when it rains.  Below are the two part numbers for each part type and estimated replacement costs for these two windshield replacement options.
